By now you should know the story. The Good, The Bad, The Queen, are four musicians, with four impeccable resumes that include time with Blur, Gorillaz, The Verve, The Clash, and Fela Kuti.
“80’s Life” shows a different side of the band, as Damon Albarn croons a light ballad over what I can best describe as some early strange psychedlic experiment where trippy keys, dubby bass, and a reverb heavy guitar mingle with doo-wop. To the credit of The Good, The Bad, and The Queen, nothing in those impressive resumes would hint at something like “80’s Life.” It’s different, and it’s a good kind of different, and I’m still stoked to hear more.
