The first track from Nine Inch Nails new disc, “Year Zero” has emerged from the internet. Prefix has a review and download of “My Violent Heart.” What does it sound like, you ask? It sounds like Nine Inch Nails, of course.

Kent’s Six Parts Seven were reviewed in Pitchfork today. Not a bad review, a 6.8, but in a depressing trend, Pitchfork is the second reivewer to label the music of Six Parts Seven great for chores. Today, Jason Crock cagetorized their sound as being on the verge of background noise, “a soundtrack to homework or washing dishes,” earlier I found a review on eMusic with the line, “Go ahead: what else were you going to clean your room to?”

One of my favorite new bands from 06, Ladyhawk, have a new 12″ e.p, Fight For Anarchy, due out May 22nd on Jagjaguwar, and a date at the Grog Shop that evening with Tapes n Tapes. I may be breaking the music blogger code of blogging, but here’s the first cut from the e.p, “War,” a tune I first previewed last summer.
