The Black Diamonds are now a power trio after singer Chad VanGils took leave from the band. A new e.p. under a new name, The Suede Brothers, will be out in the coming months.

From Aversion.com, British Sea Power are still recording their follow up to 2005’s Open Season. I was under the (false) impression that we were getting close to a release date. The band are still shooting for an 07 release.

Got a tip from Robert Duffy of Columbus’ Donewaiting.com, that Mike Carney (brother Black Keys drummer Pat Carney) has a new band, Deathly Fighter, and a tape release party this Saturday night at Bourbon Street in Columbus.

have announced US tour dates to support their latest release, Baby 81, due out on May 1st. No Cleveland dates, so a road trip to Detroit for the May 25th show at St. Andrews may be in order. The full tour schedule is available at the BRMC internet home.

The first track to The National’s forthcoming cd, Boxer, popped up on the internet late yesterday afternoon. And by popped up, I mean blew up on the internet yesterday afternoon. If you haven’t heard it, stop by one of my friends and give it a listen. Too much beer and too little sleep last night prevents me from saying anything intelligent on this one today. It’s good.

Wussy have pushed back the release of their second full length to August. On the new Wussy blog, they explain that they’ve moved back the Spring release in order to do some proper touring and promotion this Summer and Fall.
