Spinner has the audio track for “Tarantula,” the first single from Smashing Pumpkins’ 1/2 reunion album, Zeitgeist, and even though there’s no James Iha and no D’Arcy, and in spite of a truly awful opening line, “I don’t want to fight/Every single night,” this tune is surprisingly good. It includes plenty of shreddage and riffage, and has a nice Siamese Dream style break down at the end. It’s only one song, but it’s more than enough to pique my interest in Zeitgeist.
