If you’ve been anywhere on the internet today that’s even tangentially related to music, you’ve probably come across the new vid by The White Stripes for “Icky Thump.” I’m happy to report that the new single and video are both 100% marimba free.
The Mooney Suzuki’s long delayed Have Mercy, is going to be out on June 12th on iTunes and a week later everywhere else. Digital versions of the album will include four bonus tracks: “Leap of Faith,” “You Never Really Wanted Rock ‘N’ Roll,” “Caroline,” and “Say That You Will,” while physical copies will include two of the four bonus cuts. There will be a 17-date tour supporting Have Mercy with the band stopping by Clevo on July 5th.
The Cribs new single, “Men’s Needs” has been stuck in my head for the better part of a week now. I’m still a sucker for English lads and guitars. The video isn’t too bad either, but I have to find a way to remove those irritating black boxes.
I received a message from my (myspace) friends at The Agora informing me that there will only be a limited number of tickets available for The Black Keys show on June 25th. Tix go on sale tomorrow morning, 10 a.m.
