The Library Is On Fire first caught my attention (and the attention of both local alt-weeklies) when they released their video for “New Corner (For Kadinsky).” It was filmed as an homage to Devo’s “Jocko Homo.” The same location was used, and they borrowed extensively from the imagery of the original Devo clip.
The Library Is On Fire’s new video for “Pink Rock (In The Front Yard),” pays tribute to another one of their influences. You’ll notice guitarist Steve Five looking very Cobain in between the library stacks. I have a feeling, and it’s just a hunch here, that these rockres are going to be making some real noise for themselves in the coming year.
