Friday, July 20th to Thursday, July 26th.

Starting Friday night the annual camping, party, concert, boozefest Summer Sessions kicks off 45 minutes east of Cleveland in Rome, Ohio. Some of my favorite Cleveland Rockers including Nicholas Megalis, Boatzz, Goodmorning Valentine, The Dr Teeeth will be performing…Also Friday night, Psychedelic Horseshit is playing at the Parish Hall with Puffy Areolas, New Lou Reeds, Ownweatherone. With a name like Psychedelic Horseshit it’s gotta be good, right? Honestly, I have heard a few tracks by Psychedelic Horseshit and it’s some good, honest Mid-Ohio noise/fuzz rock. Fans of Times New Viking, this one’s for you.

Saturday afternoon, Music Saves, the little record store that could, is celebrating it’s 3rd birthday with a free concert and cake. The show starts at 2 in the Tavern with Bears, Coffinberry, The X Bolex and Soft Spots…The show by They Might Be Giants scheduled Saturday night at the Ballroom is sold out.

Self Destruct Button won me over with their set opening for Parts and Labor a couple weeks back. It was inventive, harsh, unpredictable, tight, melodic, and it ended with Rush. They’ll be at the Grog Shop Sunday night with the always explosive This Moment in Black History and High Red Center.

Monday night, Interpol are at House of Blues with Calla. This one’s sold out, too. Luckily, if you’re reading this, and it’s before midnight on Thursday, you still have a shot at scoring free tix.

Thursday night, there’s a triple bill at the Tavern that quite a few people I know are really looking forward to: Besnard Lakes (from Canada), David Vandervelde, and Canada (not from Canada, but Ann Arbor).

Last up, The Cleveland Scene Music Festival will be taking over W 6th Street next Thursday night. $5 gets you the chance to see over 30 bands at 6 different bars. Among the bands performing will be The Suede Brothers and Coffinberry.
