It’s Primary Day in Ohio, and while I’m not going to tell you who to vote for in the Democratic contest, I do have a short story I want to share with you.
In 2006 the Kenyan-American band Extra Golden were getting ready for their first tour of the United States, however, there was just one problem. The Kenyan members of Extra Golden could not get the required paper work to enter the United States. Things were looking bleak. There were numerous phone calls and hours of dealing with government bureaucracy, but little progress was being made. That is, until they contacted the offices of a certain Kenyan-American Senator from Illinois named Barack Obama, who was finally able to help them secure visas and rescue their dream of touring the states. Later, as a gesture of their gratitude for the aid provided by the junior senator, Extra Golden wrote and recorded the song “Obama” for their second album, Hera Ma Nono.
Like I said, I’m not going to tell you who to vote for, but as this story illustrates, that Obama guy is a pretty solid dude.
