I’ve finally succumbed to the awesome power of the internet’s latest sensation, Muxtape, a simple service where you can upload a 12 song MP3 mix and share it with your internet friends. Admittedly, the best part of Muxtape is making the mix, excuse me, mux. Without a search function, or recommendations, you’re left with nothing more than luck, should you visit Muxtape looking for a good mix without a direct URL of someone else’s muxtape. Still, as far as Friday time wasters go, this is a good one.

Here’s my first muxtape. It starts with one of the greatest side one track ones of all time, “Over the Neptune/Mesh Gear Fox” from Guided by Voice’s Propeller, and also includes a new Jay Reatard cut, some local flavor from Mystery of Two, The Very Knees, Devo, and Prisonshake, as well as classics by Husker Du and Fugazi.

Got a muxtape? Share it in the comments. Don’t have one yet? Then, I have to ask, what else are you going to do at work to get yourself to 5 o’clock?
