Do yourself a favor and throw out any preconceived notions you may have about Tel Aviv rock bands before listening to Monotonix. That’s if you have any preconceived notions about Tel Aviv rock. It isn’t exactly a hot spot for new music, and if anything, you might expect to hear some sort of Eastern European gypsy folk fusion. That’s not Monotonix. They set the place ablaze with old style Detroit Rock ‘N’ Roll, heavy on MC5 and The Stooges, and delivered with wild eyed intensity. I suggest turning this one up loud, and if it doesn’t do the trick for you, then hit up some of these clips on youtube where they literally set sh*t on fire, then crank it up again.
