Another day, another spaceman. Yesterday, I featured some new tunes by Sonic Boom, one half of the legendary band, Spacemen 3, today, it’s his old partner in sonic exploration, Jason Pierce and his post-spaceman band, Spiritualized. “Soul on Fire” comes from Spiritualized’s forthcoming disc, Songs in A & E, their first since 2003’s Amazing Grace. While it’s not the monster space jam longtime fans may have been clamoring for, it does showcase Pierce’s penchant for wonderously orchestrated arrangements as it pleasantly sways in that lost in a daydream kind of way.
