I Rock Cleveland Is Totally Stoked About the Boston Spaceships is the first in a series of posts unapologetically hyping a future release. Like most of my regular columns, I give this one a few weeks, or a few months before I tire of it, until then, let me tell you why I’m totally stoked about The Boston Spaceships.
All you need to know about the new band fronted by Robert Pollard, is this one sentence lifted directly from the one-sheet, “Boston Spaceships rock hard, have fun and drink Miller Lite.” Kinda sounds like another, more famous band, Robert Pollard was involved in, doesn’t it? Needless to say, I’m totally stoked that the one time Guided By Voices front man, is getting back to basics with a three piece band, and playing simpler, three minute rock songs.

Brown Submarine by Boston Spaceships will be out September 9th on Guided by Voices Records. Also, the band will be touring in support of this release, and two Ohio dates have already been announced: September 25th in Cincinnati at the Midpoint Music Festival, and the following night, September 26th, here at the Grog Shop.
