With the Pitchfork Music Festival happening in Chicago next weekend, there’s no shortage of bands stopping in town for a show on their way to and from the festival. That’s in addition to the regular goings on in and around town, making the next two weeks jam packed with Rock ‘N’ Roll.

Friday, July 11th: Rock Out to Knock Out Breast Cancer, a benefit at the Grog Shop benefiting breast cancer research featuring music by Plastic Hearts, Chloroform, and Apostrophe Catastrophe. More information can be found here. Coffinberry, Black Girls, and Ghostman Sandman at The Matinee Cleveland. Davenport Legal Defense Benefit with Poor Sailor, Plasma for Guns, Insurrect, Return of Simple, and more at The Beachland Tavern.

Saturday, July 12th: Fiesta of the Tequila Cactus party at the Beachland Tavern. This free afternoon event, kicks off at 3 PM with music by Mysterdy of Two, Freedom, and Uno Lady, Mexican food prepared by the Beachland’s Chef Kimberly, and cactus inspired art by Justin Coulter and Tony Merritt of Freedom and Ryan Weitzel of Mystery of Two. And what would a tequila party be without tequila? Not fun. So there’s tequila and margarita specials, too. The Suede Brothers, Five Horse Johnson, and The Brought Low at The Hi-Fi.

Monday, July 14th: Les Breastfeeders, The Cheap Dates, Adam Heart and the Children of Light at The Beachland Tavern. Unsparing Sea at Matinee Cleveland.

Tuesday, July 15th: Titus Andronicus (P4K Best new Music), and Hot Cha Cha (IRC Best live band in town) at Tower 2012.

Wednesday, July 16th: Boris, Torche, Nachtmystium at The Grog Shop. Boris! Do I have to say more? The Dutchess & the Duke, One Dollar Hat, and DJ Russ & Erin spinning old country at Now That’s Class. In case you missed it earlier in the week, The Dutchess and The Duke are my latest obsession. Even better, this show is free, with donations recommended for the bands.

Thursday, July 17th: The Hold Steady and The Loved Ones at The Beachland Ballroom. Don’t forget about the pre-show tailgate party happening at The Tavern. There will be food and drink specials and a very special guest dj, me, playing all kinds of Rock ‘N’ Roll music.

Friday, July 18th: Hot Rails and Cobra Verde at The Matinee Cleveland.

Saturday, July 19th: Mirrors , Home and Garden, and Rainy Day Saints at The Beachland Tavern.

Monday, July 21st: !!!, Extra Golden, and Icy Demons

Tuesday, July 22nd: King Khan & The Shrines, Half Rats, The Dimeras at The Grog Shop.

Wednesday, Jul 23rd: Film School, Jeremy Jay, JJ Magazine at The Beachland Tavern. Valient Thorr, Early Man, Monotonix, and Insurrect at The Grog Shop. Thee Scarcity of Tanks, Sic Alps, and Stephe DK at Pat’s in the Flats. If you’ve been keeping up with the blog, then you already know what I think about Sic Alps.

Friday, July 25th: Wussy, Good Touch Bad Touch, Ben Barrs at The Beachland Tavern.

And speaking of the Pitchfork Music Festival, I’m proud to announce that I’ll be making the trip to Chicago this year for the three day event. I’ll be bringing along a photographer and doing bongs with Lou Barlow f*ckking with Jay Reatard’s sh*t filing reports from the scene all weekend long.

As always, if I missed your event, please feel free to leave it in the comments.
