“From Stardust to Sentience” by High Places is a contradiction. Its fluttering beats and twinkling sound effects are intricately programmed, implying a time-consuming attention detail. At the same time, it maintains a feeling of spontaneity, as if those beats and keys weren’t programmed at all, and their instruments had all these glimmering, glowing sounds in waiting. All High Places had to do was press a key or two and set them free.
