Tour mates, now band mates, Will Currie and The Country French, and Canada’s finest power pop export, Sloan, got busy one day in the studio and cranked out a new virtual 7″ single, “Push Pins.” Penned by Currie, with vocals shared by Currie and Sloan’s Jay Ferguson, “Push Pins” still carries the unmistakable trademark of Sloan — smooth and effortless harmonies, natural and immediate melody, and a strong affinity for Seventies power pop, and radio hits of days gone by. The collaboration is so seamless, one could easily mistake this number for an outtake from Sloan’s last release, Parallel Play.
