Never underestimate the power of Rock ‘N’ Roll, and those gods who wield the awesome power of rock. How else can you explain the surprise rise to fame of Finnish costumed rockers Lordi in winning the 2006 Eurovision song contest with their heavy metal anthem, “Hard Rock Hallelujah?” Some have claimed that Lordi are satanists. Some people think Sara Palin is a viable vice presidential candidate, too. Truth is, Lordi get their power from the one true god of rock, Odin, and only he can decide which costumed rockers will rise to prominence with video premiers on MTV’s Headbanger’s Ball, and which bands will forever be banished to the hells of small town rib cook offs and tractor pull half time shows.
