*Matador Records recording artist Jennifer O’Connor stopped by Music Saves before her show at The Beachland Tavern last night, and conducted a quick interview with Kevin and Melanie where they reveal the perks of running an independent record store (The $$$), their favorite records (Bon Iver, Frightened Rabbit, and Marnie Stern) and their favorite eats (Melt). *I’ve been skeptical of the dealings of Phil Lara and Jigsaw Entertainment Group in the past, as he’s built up a small Rock ‘N’ Roll empire in town by buying control in Peabody’s, The Hi-Fi, and now, The Agora. In this week’s edition of the Scene Magazine, you can get his side of the story, and hear some of the plans he has for the once mighty Agora. His vision includes turning the Agora complex into a Rock ‘N’ Roll destination with a recording studio, restaurant, and club in addition to the existing ballroom and theater.
