Some songs need no explanation. They pop because they pop. They rock because they rock. Such is the case with “Hole in My Head” from the Jay Reatard approved band, Box Elders. Sounding like an old, worn 7″ recovered from the bottom of a stack of long forgotten ’60s wax, or the follow up single the La’s never recorded to “There She Goes,” it’s the quintessential, perfect pop song.
