“Magics” is the type of jam which teeters on the edge of a grand explosion, but instead of gratifying with the obvious, it works its tension to an end in of itself. Brian Case (The Ponys/90 Day Men), Graeme Gibson (BOAS), Johnathon Von Herik (BOAS), and Damon Carruesco, have all been around the Chicago rock block before, and that experience is evident in Disappears. While many bands take elements like krautrock, VU, reverb, and repetition, and work them into their mix, not many take those components and make them sound so interesting.
