* Coffinberry’s latest release, a self-titled affair, will be a limited edition vinyl release on Cleveland’s Collectible Escalators Records. It will be available June 26th at their album release show at the Beachland Tavern and on the following Tuesday at Music Saves. If you’re not into vinyl, or not in Cleveland, don’t worry. The album will come with a free digital download code and it will also be available at iTunes and other digital e-tailers.
*Also gearing up for their next release, is the Cleveland post-punk trio Mystery of Two. They have a CD release show set at The Beachland Tavern on July 31st for their second disc for Cleveland’s Exit Stencil Records. Four songs from the forthcoming disc are currently streaming at Myspace, including what may be one of my favorite M2 tracks to date, “French Rocking Horse.”
*According to my sources, Cleveland power pop trio Good Touch Bad Touch are wrapping up their first album and this album of theirs is going to seriously impress. I trust my sources. And I trust my ears and eyes, as they’ve seen and heard a few GTBT shows and have witnessed the band start to take their craft to that proverbial next level.
*On May 19th, the soundtrack for the HBO vampire drama, True Blood, will be released, and included in the mix will be Cobra Verde’s cover of the Rolling Stones’ classic “Play With Fire.”
