The free Summer Sessions concert series at the Rock Hall continues tonight with Chairlift and JJ Magazine. And while Chairlift may not have the name recognition in the independent underground like their cohorts in MGMT or Yeasayer, I’m willing to bet that if you had a tv set at any time during 2008 you’re very familiar with their music. There was a time when the iPod nano ad featuring their single, “Bruises,” was damn near inescapable, and for good reason, too. Not that this particular blogger watches too much tv and doens’t own a DVR, rather, “Bruises,” is about as perfect as a pop song gets. The hot pop action starts at 7:00 tonight with JJ Magazine outside of the Rock Hall and it’s free.
