Tuesday, October 13th: Jemina Pearl, All Dinosaurs, Struttin’ Cocks @ Beachland Tavern. Mike Doughty @ Beachland Ballroom.
Making her first solo appearance in Cleveland is the ex-Be Your Own Pet frontwoman, Jemina Pearl. She’s still quite the riot girl, even if it’s a different girl from a different era. Whereas BYOP ripped with youthful aggression and attitude aplenty and were very much a band in the here and now, Pearl’s solo work is more likely to recall the work of such trailblazing ladies as Joan Jett and The Runaways.

Wednesday, October 14th: Califone live multimedia event @ Beachland Ballroom. Kylesa, Saviours, Red Fang and Lionize @ Grog Shop.
Thursday, October 15th: They Might Be Giants performing the classic album Flood @ Beachland Ballroom. SOLD OUT.
Friday, October 16th: Dr. Dog, Jeffrey Lewis @ Beachland Ballroom. Hot Cha Cha Record release show with Freedom, Founding Fathers, and Uno Lady @ Grog Shop. Mars Volta @ House of Blues.
Long a staple of the Cleveland live scene, the four ladies in Hot Cha Cha will be showcasing work from their forthcoming, full length debut, The World’s Hardest Working Telescope and the Violent Birth of Stars on Friday night. You can expect new-wave, post-punk, some fine guitar work, and fun. No matter what you think about Hot Cha Cha the artist, there’s no questioning the fact that Hot Cha Cha’s frontwoman Jovana Batkovic is one of area’s premier entertainers. Unless, you don’t like fun, of course. In that case I can recommend a few dozen indie bands who will stand on stage and look bored for your pleasure.
