You know we’re in the midst of a ’90s revival, right?  Should you need proof, look no further than the furor over the reunion of the decade’s slack rock superheroes, Pavement, who were just announced today as headliners of the Pitchfork Music Festival.  Are you still not convinced and do you need more proof?  I’d point you to the play button embedded above for the video “Resilient Bastard” from the East Coast duo, Shellshag.  Hear the guitars?  They’re pure ’90s grit.  See that shot?  The boy-girl duo of Shell on guitar and vox and Shag on drums look like extras from a Breeders’ video shoot.  Hear that melody?  It’s like any number of melodies you heard during the glory days of alt-rock radio.  And the sentiment, hell, it doesn’t get more ’90s than “I’m a resilient bastard” and “I just don’t care.”
