* While that new Black Angels album hasn’t exactly been quick to reveal itself, the band have been keeping themselves busy. Just last week, a collaboration between the Austin psych rockers and UNKLE hit the internets. You can check out and download “Natural Selection,” at UNKLE’s website, here.
* In related news, The Black Angels have been hand-picked by Jim Jarmusch to appear at ATP NY on September 5th. The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Raekwon, Girls, F*cked Up, Wooden Shjips, and Vivian Girls were also selected by my Rock ‘N’ Roll soul-mate for the Sunday session of the festival. They’ll be joining an already stacked line-up featuring Sleep, Iggy and the Stooges, Sonic Youth, and The Breeders. And to Kevin, Melanie, Tim, Bill, Andy, David, and all the other Cleveland ATP’ers, I think you’ll be seeing me in Monticello this Labor Day.
* The Cleveland Scene has launched a blog by Ron Kretsch to keep tabs on all things Lottery League 2010 up through the big showcase on April 10th at the Beachland.
* Lastly, Canadian power-poppers, Sloan, have released a massive, 26 song, B-side collection spanning the entirety of their career titled B-Sides Win. You can stream it in its entirety and/or purchase this set at the Sloan website.
