It’s not quite “Wonderwall,” and then again who is going to write another “Wonderwall,” these days, but by easing away some of the roughness heard on their earlier releases, the Bay-Area psych-rock band, The Fresh and Onlys, have a certifiable top jam on their hands with “Waterfall.” Now, one can appreciate their smooth combination of spaghetti westerns and modern, melodic folk without having to imagine what it would sound like with a nice shine. It’s all there for you — The glittery guitar tones, the gently treated vocals, and clear harmonies, and it’s all so right.
