Starting tonight with a pre-festival mixer at the Happy Dog headlined by David Dondero, The Weapons of Mass Creation Festival will be taking over the Gordon Square neighborhood for a weekend of bands, designers and presenters all aimed at feeding the creative mind.  The fest really kicks into gear tomorrow and Sunday with speakers at Reinberger Auditorium running from noon ’til 8, musicians at The Happy Dog from noon ’til midnight, and free design shows at Wall Eye Gallery.  A full schedule of events can be found at the Weapons of Mass Creation website.

Granted, that schedule can be a lot to take in, especially if you’re unfamiliar with the artists featured on the WMC site.  So, here’s my tip: One show you don’t want to miss is the headlining music set on Sunday night with local bands Nights and The Lighthouse and The Whaler and touring acts, Lower Dens and Memoryhouse.  It’ll be more than worth your five bucks.
